Posters / Large Format
Artistorm Poster
13" x 17" ( October 2005 )Wall poster for Artistorm. We had 1,000 of these printed through PsPrint, so we now hand them out and include them with purchases from the store. Camille did most of the concept work on the cool cloud icon.
openBook Banner
36" x 84" ( August 2005 )Huge tradeshow banner for openBook Technologies. Used the same water vectors as the openBook Standups. One of my first designs made with the lovely Illustrator CS2.
Starman Poster
18" x 24" ( October 2004 )Starmen.Net poster designed from scratch in Freehand MX. Never officially printed or sold due to possible copyright violations on the Starman (it's a character from a video game), but it may be used in the future as a prize.
openBook Standups
33" x 17" ( April 2004 )A design I intended to print on vellum and then cut into three separate 'stand-ups'. The watery goodness was a stock photograph I had Camille vectorize, lending her special dose of style to the design.
TCHA Poster
48" x 36" ( March 2004 )A huge presentation poster I designed for my Purdue University EPICS team, TCHA, during my last semester as a Computer Engineer. It was easily the best poster there, but it's not hard to out-design an engineer ... graphically ;.
Business / Advertising
Business Cards
( 2003 - 2005 )Just a picture of the business card designs I had copies of - I'd have to make a new section to show all of them. The three on the left were designed for openBook or its clients, and the two on the right are recent personal projects.
openBook Flyer
11" x 8.5" ( April 2005 )An informational flyer designed for openBook to insert into its bids and proposals and to hand out at tradeshows. Made several more based off of this design, but if you've seen one you've seen them all.
Hookah Menu
11" x 17" ( February 2005 )A much larger Hookah project done through openBook. This redesign of their menus took a considerable amount of time, but the result was much more professional and elegant than their Microsoft Word template.
Hookah Invitation
4" x 5.5" ( December 2004 )Hookah, a middle eastern restaurant/bar near Purdue University, hired openBook to create a special kind of invitation to send to its target demographic. I worked with the client to develop this piece, along with the new logo it employs.
openBook Biz Cards
( February 2006 )Most recent business card design for openBook. Very simple, but I will be creating more in a variety of different colors to go along with my new branding strategy (that our logo, like our firm, adapts).
Artistorm Biz Card
( January 2006 )The most recent Artistorm business card design is double-sided for maximum keep-it-in-your-wallet effect. Like much of Artistorm's other material, this uses Camille's awesome poster design.
Ski Anderson
( February 2006 )A business card design done for openBook's favorite client, Ski Anderson. Ski is a local radio personality and needed something more interesting than the vanilla business cards the station gave him.
Logos / Identity
Artistorm Logo
( July 2005 )The cloud concept was something Camille and I tossed around for a while before she whipped out that great cloud icon. I tweaked it a little and then grabbed SF Movie Poster and BigNoodle Titling from dafont.com.
Godsong Promotions
( July 2005 )Godsong Promotions wanted a logo which conveyed the organization's goal - to promote concerts featuring Christian artists. The dove/music note was a big hit and now adorns all kinds of shirts and business cards.
Ozone Skateshop
( July 2005 )The Ozone guys came in to openBook trying to find someone who would do their logo justice - the previous designers' attempts at dripping paint were pretty weak. I turned to Ray Larabie for Tank and gave it a street feel with the yellow lines.
Hookah!
( January 2005 )Another openBook client, Hookah's logo is pretty much just the LainieDay font with some minor modifications, but it fits the smooth, warm, laid back atmosphere at the restaurant. This logo is now used in all of the client's advertising and materials.
LiquidSpring LLC
( November 2004 )An older logo design done with openBook which was ultimately not used due to the fact that the client's current logo was already widely deployed. They liked it, and I did too - I almost wish I could find another company that does spring stuff and has a Q in their name...
SHF Trademark
( 2003 )A trademark designed for openBook's long-time officemates - Seeger, Hodson, and Forbes. They wanted something that conveyed power and style without losing the local lawyer sensibilities. They were real happy with it, describing it as their 'Terminator' logo.
